Garden Club - Next Season

Next Season

There are many ways you can help!

We have not had any responses to our previous requests for volunteers.  Without your help, the garden club cannot function next year. There are many ways you can make a difference:
  • Post club advertising on local mailboxes
    (1 person per community)
  • Source one guest speaker, arrange a month, get a bio and a door prize
    (1 person per month)
  • Collect and deliver food bank donations
    (1 or 2 people)
  • Store, re-stock and set up social coffee, tea, juice, and supplies (1 person)
  • Re-post incoming NSAGC correspondence on Facebook and blogger (1 person)
  • Add community events to the club calendar
    (1 - 2 people)
  • Lead the plant sale arrangements
    (1 - 2 people)
  • Organize summer garden tours
    (1 person)
We are happy to provide more information.  If you would like to know more about any of these tasks, please feel free to email us or ask at the May meeting.
This club can only function with the help of volunteers. If you can commit to any task, it will help. Many hands make light work.
If you love this club
and you want it to continue, please volunteer.

Your opportunity to
help is just a click away!

2015 NSAGC Convention

Invitation

A warm welcome from the Western District of the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs. This year our convention is in Yarmouth, NS at the Rodd Grand Hotel 417 Main St. on June 5th and 6th

Our area truly loves our gardens and is peacock proud of them. There will be self-guided tours of local gardens and directions to unique walking paths. The convention starts with a tea sponsored by Mayor Mood and the town of Yarmouth. It is to be in our historic Frost Park next to the Town Hall. We have entertainment and a ghost walk tour later on Friday.

Saturday is a full day of speakers, vendors, door prizes and is capped off with a lovely banquet at the Rodd’s Grand Hotel followed by our own award winning author Niki Jabbour as guest speaker. Niki gets the most out of a vegetable garden and is willing to share her secrets.

Other parts of our convention you might like are a photo contest, see NSAGC site for regulations and a floral design competition. Only one floral design per club, but you can certainly collaborate. Rules will be posted on the NSAGC site later.

We would truly like to show you our hospitality. Register today and enjoy some time with like-minded folks.

Treasurer and Volunteers Needed

Your chance to volunteer or

Be Treasurer!

The Prospect Area Gardening club is something we all look forward to every month and it wouldn't be successful without its volunteers!

This year, we extend our sincere thanks to John Speagle for his years of dedication as he steps down from the treasurer position.

The club now needs a new treasurer for our next season.  This position involves collecting membership dues at our first few meetings, writing guest speaker cheques, paying our room fees in Sept. and Jan., reimbursing expenses and liaising with the club president.

If you are interested in this position or as a general volunteer, please email us at thepagc@gmail.com.
