Potluck Social & Wreath Demo by Rhonda Rees - Nov. 25th

Club Social, Wreath Demo & Make 'n Take

This Wednesday, November 25th, we will join together for some holiday cheer at our annual holiday potluck social.  We are going to be treated to a wreath making demonstration by our very own Rhonda Rees!  She makes a wreath every year and has some time and money saving tips for us!  We'll end the evening with a small holiday make 'n take.
We are proud to support our local food bank at St. Timonthy's Church.  Your donations are gratefully accepted at each of our meetings.

Potluck Social - November 25, 2015

Our next meeting is exactly one month before Christmas!  Perfect timing for our Holiday Social!
We always have such an awesome potluck feast and I just know it will be epic again!
The suggestion to make festive wreaths or centrepieces was well received - more to follow!

Registration & Tool Sharpening this Wed. Oct. 28

Registration & Tool Sharpening Demo

Registration continues this Wednesday as we host special guest, Andrew Lowe, from Lee Valley.  Andrew has lots of experience keeping garden tools and mower blades sharp! He's going to give us a hands-on demo with lots of tips for those tricky blades. If you have a garden tool that you find dull or tough to sharpen, bring it along! We'll be in the art room at the Community Center for this one!
Challenge Andrew and bring your trickiest garden tools that need sharpening!

Garden Club - Next Season

Next Season

There are many ways you can help!

We have not had any responses to our previous requests for volunteers.  Without your help, the garden club cannot function next year. There are many ways you can make a difference:
  • Post club advertising on local mailboxes
    (1 person per community)
  • Source one guest speaker, arrange a month, get a bio and a door prize
    (1 person per month)
  • Collect and deliver food bank donations
    (1 or 2 people)
  • Store, re-stock and set up social coffee, tea, juice, and supplies (1 person)
  • Re-post incoming NSAGC correspondence on Facebook and blogger (1 person)
  • Add community events to the club calendar
    (1 - 2 people)
  • Lead the plant sale arrangements
    (1 - 2 people)
  • Organize summer garden tours
    (1 person)
We are happy to provide more information.  If you would like to know more about any of these tasks, please feel free to email us or ask at the May meeting.
This club can only function with the help of volunteers. If you can commit to any task, it will help. Many hands make light work.
If you love this club
and you want it to continue, please volunteer.

Your opportunity to
help is just a click away!
